Just like On The Way Out said, One can now just read anything that was not accepted by the JW ...read about the John or Luke in story form ..read about all the characters of the bible from different authors instead of just the society what a pleasure ..that is how I have benefited, enjoy life now and not have the feeling of guilt!!

by Quirky1 inthis is just a curious study.
i would love to get everyone's input on how each individual or couple has benefited from leaving the jw/wtbs as well as how their life is currently vs. being part of the organization.. eyes wide open .

Here's how the Society can get out of the "anointed" dilemma
by sir82 inthere's been several posts the past few days about the issues raised when the society dropped the "1935 as the end of the selection of the anointed" doctrine in may 2007 and reinforced the teaching with the 1/15/08 wt.. many ideas have been thrown out regarding how the society will be able to "spin" the almost assured large jump in memorial partakers this year and in following years.. it suddenly hit me how they can do it, and come out smelling like a rose:.
(warning: speculation ahead!).
go back to the "2 class" heavenly calling!.

They will then have to reinstate me - long time ago I chatted to this so-called annointed and said "I feel that i have the Spirit of God in me" and asked him how he knew he was of the annointed class and he gave me this baby answer (like they all do - everyone of them - as they are sheep anywa) he said "just like you know you are a women and I know I am a man, that is how I know" They are so shallow he could not even give me a spiritual answer. The light gets brighter and brighter - that is what they will use ONCE AGAIN - and yes as you said - everyone will be happy - those who think they might feel a stiring inside and those who want to lie down with the sheeeeeeeep and the lions etc etc snakes and all the animals and make the earth pretty again, once they have picked up all the bones. So we might after all only get a hand full on earth because who in their right minds wants to pick up bones and dig graves. Prehaps that is what the Apostalbe Paul meant when he said "I was caught up to the third heaven"

If Jesus existed perhaps he only died for the Jews back then
by LouBelle inthis is just something i've been thinking about.
jesus was their messiah, he died for the jews back then and thus his "blood" doesn't automatically wipe out the sins of every human being.
we've got to take responsibilities for the sins we commit - so in order for "saving" we should "die" to the flesh every day.. thoughts?.

Sometimes I don't know what to believe - that Jesus died for us then so that it equalled out Adam's sin (don't like to think like that though) or if we are all creators ourselves - if we ourselves create things in our life and we have to suffer the consequences or enjoy the outcome. Like Christ he did not have to die - he choose to - so he created it himself. So if we do not put our hope in Christ to save us then we ourselves have to create the outcome - we not perfect but by self realization we become more aware of where we are and thereby reach the point of perfection.

Do the hours of the JW's reflect their actual preaching?
by justhuman inwhen i was watchtower witness and pioneer i recall how we used to abuse the hours at the field service.... getting up in the morning, and doing street work..after the street work going to the kindom hall for the field service, and the at the territory.
after finishing the territory continue some street work in order continue reporting the time.. so starting at 8.15 in the morning, then stop at 9.15 to drive to the kindom hall, and around 9.50 we were getting at the territory.
then after the 2 hours preaching(and usually 85%of the people were not home and the rest show no interest at all, and after 2 coffee brakes, finishing at 12.00. then going some street work at the center of the town until 1.00. so we used to report 5 hours!!!

Funny enough I was just thinking about this while driving my car yesterday, there you see them walking slowly down the street, passing by the people, not even offering the Mags at all (these are old "sisters" so you can imagine how slow they walk) I remember to fill the time as I needed the 60 hours, I wrote letters, inbetween having coffee and eating and cooking. JW justify themselves saying "it all right we are working for Jah and we are the chosen ones, the only ones who will get saved, so this is ok if we do it this way" and wow out comes the 60 or 90 hours, clap, clap, clap at the hall.

My son will be 9 tomorrow and we celebrated his first b-day yesterday!
by findingmyway init was a surprise and he felt a little awkward -- especially when we sang the birthday song -- but he embraced it.
he was so excited to see that everyone came for him and brought gifts and he was very appreciative!
i am so happy that i did it!.

Thats sooooooo wonderful.
Society says no B-days, 1 reason, that one chap got his head cut off, but they fail to mention that the King also did a good deed, he let the cup-bearer out of jail ( i think it was the cup-bearer)
God also said we should honor oneanother and that is how we do it, by celebrating your day of birth.
all the best

I left the jw about 8 years but still believed they weere the "truth" only got announced 5 or so months ago that "I am no longer a jw" so one does not know if you are Dfed. cold, etc etc, as now the WTBTS reliaze that they can be sued.
Anyway in Jan of this year accepeted Jesus into my life WOW what a difference, Christ now lives IN ME. This amazes me because i was not even looking for something and this living acceptance of me from God was even before I REALLY knew what He wanted from me. (remember as a jw, you have to go thru so many questions etc before you get baptised into THEIR religion, and have had to have been on the field for so many months etc etc).
God chooses you, you do not choose God.
Anyway, about baptizim, I dont know if this is spiritual or physical, sometimes feel the need sometimes don't. I am waiting on God to tell me.

JH,
Do yourself a BIG FAVOUR and GO GIVE BLOOD.
Well that is what I am going to do, the blood people are coming to our work next week and guess where I will be yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!! giving BLOOD.
This is a BIGGIE for all (i think) ex jw.
Bu I know this (giving blood) will just get me past all the junk that was put in my head.
JH go for it, give blood and see what a difference it will make to you, your face (if that is what the doc says it will do).
Otherwise you look great.
Ps I am on the Body for Life programe to lose a little weight but to encrease my muscles. It it a wonderful diet, eat 6 times a day, exercise 6 days a week. Being on it only for 8 days WHAT A DIFFERENCE. Try it!! all who want to feel and look great.

Which meetings did you hate the most?
by JH inout of the 5 weekly meetings, here are the ones i hated the most.. in order.
1. theocratic ministry school ( i hated speaking in public) got me so nervous.. 2. service meeting ( too much crap and statistics and presentations).
3. the book study ( just a waist of time ).

The public talk on a Sunday, for 1 whole hour the elder spoke from an outline, and did the things he was taught on the Thursday meeting. Voice up and down or just drooooning on and on, my head used to fall into my chest and I used to get very dizzy trying to keep my eyes open. But what a difference when I went to this one church . The chap spoke right from his heart and from inside of him which i call the inner Spirit. It was not rehersed at all. Nothing was set out in order but flowed. I found that all the meetings started right on time, hour for this or for that and dont forget you ONLY had 5 min to give your talk on the Thursdays DONT go overtime. I liked that ONLY BECAUSE I HAD A SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT TAKE ON SOME OF MY TOPICS. Shock on some of the faces. Anyway thank God we all out of it.
